You will need Adobe Acrobat reader, a free download, to download PDF handouts as study guides. You will also need a current version of QuickTime Player which is also a free download. The average handout, which is rich in illustrations, requires 3 - 71 MB of free space on your computer to download. This course is self-paced and open for enrollment at any time. Participants will have one year of access to the content. Following the weekly schedule, the course should last three months, but considering the work hours of IONM professionals, some flexibility is built in allowing up to a year to complete the content. Order textbooks in advance from the ASET office in Kansas City. Author for the course is Dr Aage Møller, author of the textbook, and the course instructor is Liliana Garland, BS, CNIM, his teaching assistant.20 ACE credits Course goals: The goal of this Introduction to Intraoperative Neuromonitoring is to familiarize the learner with the Operating Room environment, the basis of IONM, the usefulness of monitoring using the various modalities of neurodiagnostics, and lay a very basic foundation of neurophysiologic skills required to perform on a basic level in the IONM professional field. Prerequisite course IONM 100 Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiolgy for Neruodiagnostic Professionals is highly recommended for those who have not taken a college neuroanatomy course in the past, but is not required for registration.
